Background

The Conference Board of Canada is the foremost independent, not-for-profit, applied research organization in Canada. As a non-partisan group, they provide insights into domestic economic trends, public policy and organizational performance – influencing public policy analysts and industry decision makers with the research that they publish.

Each year, the Conference Board produces a document called, “A report card on Canada: How Canada Performs”. In 2008, they approached non~linear creations (NLC) to take this paper-based report into the online realm and further increase the organization’s visibility, relevance and reach.

Solution

NLC identified an SEO strategy for the report by conducting intensive keyword research for optimal search results. After the initial strategic sessions, our SEO analysts optimized the text of the report itself to be more in-line with relevant search terms.

NLC built the user experience from the ground up, translating the content from one medium to another with an intuitive and interactive architecture for the new online report.

Outcome

NLC’s strategic expertise allowed this formerly paper-based organization to adopt a highly visible, interactive format for their most important and influential research of the year.

The report garnered immediate, broad-based attention from media across Canada, resulting in 109 newspaper articles and several national television and radio reports within days of its release.
