The Sitecore Online Marketing Suite (previously code-named Everest) has been officially announced!! OMS, an add-on to the Sitecore CMS provides online marketers with enhanced abilities to monitor visitor behavior, deliver personalized experiences, perform usability testing and more effectively manage online campaigns.
The Sitecore MVPs had been invited to a preview of the product enhancements early this year, but we were sworn to secrecy. At the core, OMS is composed of two key “features”.
Integrated Analytics
First and foremost is an integrated web analytics capability. As the integrated package is intimately aware of Sitecore content and the site visitor, it provides the foundation for personalization and visitor profiling. Reporting is directly accessible from within Sitecore. From a simple interface, marketing users are able to setup visitor profiles, register campaigns, specify goals and act against events.
Rule Builder
The Rule Builder is what allows non-technical users to setup profiling, personalization and perform A/B and multivariate testing on the site. The builder has been designed to mimic the Outlook message rule builder. The rules system includes integration with a reverse DNS lookup service: allowing users to define rules for different geographies and corporate visitors.
Moving Forward
The Sitecore Online Marketing Suite will be released to customers on June 30, 2009. The official details are available from Sitecore http://www.sitecore.com/en/Products/Sitecore-Online-Marketing-Suite.aspx
In upcoming posts we will be sharing real world scenarios that leverage the capabilities of the Sitecore Online Marketing Suite. We look forward to sharing:
